Moonfall Guide

Overview

Last Updated: 04/04/2024

you're diving into the nitty-gritty of winning at Moonfall in Axie Infinity Homeland. We've got the tips on how to be a pro at gathering, crafting, and strategizing with passive adventurers. Plus, we've decked out this page with some sweet graphics and a moonfall timer to make your journey smoother.

The Basics

Players can collect up to 15 MFs in each 8-hour slot starting at 00:00, 08:00, and 16:00 UTC, which means up to 45 MFs daily. But, there's a catch: you can only score 1 MF per day, and this resets at midnight UTC. So, if you win at 00:00, you can't win again until the next day at 00:00.

In the early stages of the game, gathering is the go-to strategy for most players. However, as time passes and players level up their adventurers, there's a noticeable shift towards a passive adventurers (PA) strategy. This change reflects the evolving gameplay dynamics as everyone's adventurers get stronger and the playerbase reaches higher Altar of Atia levels.

Gathering:

With the latest update on March 27, 2024, there's a new twist in triggering a Moonfall: Axies now must not only finish gathering but also deliver the goods back to storage.

Here's the scoop: You've gotta line up your Axies' to START gathering at level 5+ pink nodes (trees) or mines to coincide precisely with the Moonfall's kick-off. But wait, there's more: after gathering, make sure they haul their loot to storage to trigger the event. Heads up, though—the journey time shown in-game might not always be spot-on. You'll need to do some field testing and keep track of actual times to nail this perfectly.

You will actually have to time the time it takes for your Axie to reach your particular lv5+ node or Metal Mine. With this latest update players must note that the cancel gather trick is now no longer working and this trick is now of no benefit to players anymore. You can only time the first gathering cycle to Start at the exact time of Moonfall. Now you still can do this with multiple workers but you will have to time them all to start at the exact time of Moonfall.

Crafting:

Make sure your Axies wrap up their crafting right when the Moonfall event starts. Cross your fingers for legendary or mythical items since only these rarities can trigger a Moonfall. Just a heads-up: from what we've seen in the Pre-Beta and Beta phases, crafting's odds of snagging a Moonfall are pretty slim.

Passive Adventurers (PA):

Unleash your top-notch NPCs decked out in their finest gear precisely as the Moonfall event begins—not a moment sooner. It's a smart move to hold off on deploying your NPCs until it's Moonfall time. You'll only have a shot at triggering a Moonfall when your crew takes down special enemies or bosses that appear on certain floors, like the 30th, 50th, 80th, 100th, 130th, and so on.

Want to boost your odds? Stack up on high-rarity plots. The more Axies and NPCs you've got, the better your chances. Dive into all three Moonfall periods. Apply every strategy we've talked about, covering every Axie and NPC on every plot you own. Just a heads up: this is going to be a rigorous and demanding gig. Trust me on this one.

Seeing the same names topping the charts day after day? It's all down to their laser-focused micro-management skills. As for me, I've got my hands full with just two plots. Between the intricate dance of Moonfall micromanaging and dedicating time to build up the wiki, I've realized this level of gameplay is a league of its own—tailored for the hardcore enthusiasts. While I admire the dedication, diving deep into that intensity isn't quite my jam. It's a path best suited for those who thrive on the challenge.
